Non-Degree Application

    GENERAL ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

    Thank you for your interest in taking courses through Adelphi University!

    If you're interested in taking non-degree courses at Adelphi this summer (May-August), please visit the Summer Classes & Programs at Adelphi page for more information.


    For admission consideration, complete the application below, which includes a nonrefundable application fee of $50, and submit all required application materials. All applications will be evaluated by the Office of University Admissions on a case-by-case basis. As a non-degree applicant, you have the opportunity to take up to 12 Adelphi University credits. 

    Please review the student classification criteria below to determine your non-degree enrollment status:

    UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT (NON-DEGREE)
    If you are a non-degree undergraduate student and want to take undergraduate prerequisite courses, you must submit an official or unofficial transcript showing proof of baccalaureate degree.  Please note, certain classes may require departmental approval.


    GRADUATE STUDENT (NON-DEGREE)
    If you are a non-degree graduate student and want to take graduate courses at Adelphi University, you must submit an official or unofficial transcript showing proof of a baccalaureate degree.  Please note, certain programs may require departmental approval.

    VISITING STUDENT (NON-DEGREE) - SPRING & FALL TERMS ONLY
    If you are a non-degree visiting student and want to take course(s) at Adelphi University with the intention of having them transferred back to your degree-granting institution, you must submit a recommendation letter from the degree-granting institution that includes the course(s) and credit hours you are permitted to take at Adelphi University.  The statement must also include a description of the course(s) and how these course(s) will transfer back to the degree-granting institution.


    SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES (NON-DEGREE)
    High School Graduate without a Bachelor's Degree
    If you have graduated from high school or earned a high school equivalency diploma at least one year ago but have not earned a Bachelor's degree, you may take up to 12 credits as a non-degree student. If you are looking to have your credits transfer to your current institution, please refer to the information under 'Visiting Student' listed above. Please submit your official or unofficial final high school transcript indicating your date of graduation or proof of high equivalency diploma.

    Personal Enrichment Courses (Degree Required)
    If you are interested in taking a class for personal enrichment while earning credit as a non-degree student, proceed with this enrollment status and the application below. You must submit an official or unofficial transcript showing proof of baccalaureate degree. Please note, certain classes may require departmental approval.
